Adaptiv kantutjmning r en teknik som innebr att multisampling (MSAA) och supersampling (SSAA) kombineras p 3D-objekt s att kanterna blir jmnare och detaljrikedomen frbttras. Multisampling fungerar bst nr kanter p solida polygoner jmnas ut. Kanter p polygoner som r delvis genomskinliga kan inte jmnas ut effektivt. Med supersampling kan frgvrden intill bildpunkter med genomskinliga shader-vrden inom polygoner med delvis genomskinlig textur berknas noggrannare. Tekniken anvnds dock inte hela tiden eftersom den krver mer processorkraft. Adaptiv kantutjmning innebr att supersamplad kantutjmning anvnds p genomskinliga texturer och multisamplad kantutjmning anvnds p alla andra texturer. Detta ger utomordentlig bildkvalitet samtidigt som prestandanivn bibehlls.
